Founder late Shikshanmaharshi Dr.Babuji Salunkhe.
Established in 1954.
Named after the great Indian Philosopher Shri. Swami Vivekananda.
Major Objective: to educate the rural, economically weaker pupils.

The jurisdiction of the management: 13 districts of Maharashtra and one district of Karnataka.

2 Lakh students studying in more than 330 educational units.
The motto given by the founder to the sanstha “dissemination of education through Knowledge, Scince and Culture.”
Total 330 Educational and Cultural centers which include 170 High School, 8 Training College,18 Arst, Commerce and Science Colleges, 66 Junior college, 3 B.Ed College, One Law College, multipurpose High School, 19 Hostels, and One Asharamashala (Residential School).
Most of the Educational Centers in the rural, backward,hilly, drought-prone and remote parts of the state of Maharashtra.
Well-qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty, administrative and menial staff.
Dr.Bapuji Salunkhe’s dedicated work and great service to the downtrodden and poor communities of the society is rewarded with

- “D.Litt” by Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
- ‘Shikshanmaharshi’ Title given by the people.

'Shri Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha, Kolhapur' is one of the few renowned and leading educational institutions in Maharashtra (India). Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe started toying with his dream- project of founding an educational institute which he did in 1954. He made the resolution of founding 'Shri Swami Shikshan Sanstha' in a small temple of Lord Muralidhar (Lord Krishna) Situated on the confluence of holy rivers the krishna and the Koyana. He selected equally holy place to begin the sacred mission which, later on, become a life-time work for Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe.
